In our collective imagination, the arrival of a baby seems like a simple, natural thing. This is not always the case, however, because getting pregnant is such a precise and complex process that nothing is left to chance. When this happens, we can really speak of “fate.”
Dayna Childress, a 28-year-old mother, knows this very well. After the arrival of her first child, Lincoln, she tried to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ a baby brother but without much success; she unfortunately suffered three consecutive ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇs. Before giving up for good, Dayna opted to resort to ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴅʀᴜɢs.
When baby Lincoln was nine months old, Dayna and her husband, Colby, decided to expand their family. After seven months, Dayna found out she was pregnant but ʟᴏsᴛ the baby after just six weeks. After this unfortunate pregnancy, the young woman tried to ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇɪᴠᴇ again, with the same sad outcome. Concerned by this unfortunate coincidence, Dayna sought the advice of several gynecologists in order to solve possible ꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ problems: “My first pregnancy had started and ended successfully and in good health; I could not explain it,” she commented.
All doctors found no abnormalities in her ʀᴇᴘʀᴏᴅᴜᴄᴛɪᴠᴇ sʏsᴛᴇᴍ, so to facilitate ᴄᴏɴᴄᴇᴘᴛɪᴏɴ, a specialist prescribed her ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ. After about a year, Dayna got pregnant again, but this pregnancy also ended in ᴍɪsᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇ. “My third loss made me think I would never carry a child to term again,” the young mother recalls.
Although very discouraged, Dayna continued until she finally became pregnant with quadruplets. “The first ultrasound immediately showed four spaces, but we could only hear two babies with their hearts beating. We thought they would be twins at best, but we were still happy. When we discovered the beatings of the other two little ones’ hearts, our joy was indescribable! We were finally going to be the family with so many children that we had wanted for so long! It was a true miracle,” Colby said.
It only remains for us to wish good luck to the finally large family. After giving birth to four little babies, Otto, Willow, Simon, and Willis, Dana Childress also reminded many women who wanted to be mothers that they must pay attention to the problem of ɪɴꜰᴇʀᴛɪʟɪᴛʏ. Once any abnormality is found, they must seek medical ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛᴍᴇɴᴛ, take medicine on time, and discuss with the doctor what methods are available so that it is possible to have a smooth pregnancy and give birth to a healthy child.
