In aftermath of Kyrie Irving trade, the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant are having ongoing conversations on the direction of the franchise, but organization has thus far told inquiring teams that they’re not planning to trade him before Thursday’s deadline, sources tell ESPN.

With two days to go before the NBA’s trade deadline, anything can happen between now and Thursday. And while Kyrie may have been the first domino to drop this season, he may not be the biggest.

If Durant decides to sever his ties with Brooklyn, it will be all-out mayhem in the NBA. Until then, the league will keep watching, and waiting, for him to announce where his loyalties lie.

Regardless, it will be some time before we see Durant on the court and fans shouldn’t expect him to rush his return with the Nets still holding the 5th best record in the East.
