‘He isn’t signing’: Jamie O’Hara says Liverpool won’t sign Champions League captain

Jamie O’Hara says Jude Bellingham ‘isn’t signing’ for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool given their current struggles in the Premier League.

HLV Mancini: 'Ý có nhiều cầu thủ trẻ tài năng như Bellingham'

From Real Madrid to Manchester City. Bellingham, come the summer transfer window, can choose whichever club he wants to sign for.

That’s if Borussia Dortmund accepts the possible high transfer price they want for the 19-year-old midfielder.

Even before Bellingham moved to Dortmund, those on Merseyside were mentioned as possible admirers of the player.

Well, fast forward to the present, and now Liverpool are as desperate as ever for Bellingham’s signature and presence in their ageing and energy-less midfield.

Putting the transfer price aside for the Champions League captain, O’Hara thinks, the club’s current situation and what could happen to them in May, will mean that the teenager won’t be heading to Anfield, as he told Stadium Astro.

“I just don’t think Liverpool can get Jude Bellingham,” said O’Hara. “I know they keep talking about it.

“Maybe last season, when they were fighting on all fronts to win things, yes. But not now. Why would Jude Bellingham go there?

“He can pick all the top five or six football clubs in the world that would want him in their football team, they would invest in him and pay a lot of money to have him.

“If Liverpool isn’t in the Champions League, and they are playing the way they are, forget Jude Bellingham. He isn’t signing for Liverpool. I don’t care what you try to offer him. I don’t care what you try to give his dad. It isn’t happening.”

COULD THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE SAVE LIVERPOOL’S SEASON?

Well, Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat over the weekend was further proof that their luck, form or performances aren’t changing anytime soon on the domestic stage.

Perhaps the Champions League will provide them with that much-needed confidence.

Real Madrid awaits Liverpool in the knockout stages later this month, and if the English side can progress, then fans will start to believe they can add European Cup number seven to their cabinet.

It also needs to be remembered that the final is expected to be held in Istanbul. A place that perhaps provided Liverpool’s greatest-ever night in their rich trophy-laden history.
