Henry Cavill is making headlines these days for losing his hit roles. Cavill has been snatched of his red cape after the arrival of James Gunn in the DC. Cavill will also be replaced by Liam Hemsworth in the fourth season of the fantasy series The Witcher.
Apart from his previously mentioned hit roles. Cavill was also seen in the blockbuster franchise starring Tom Cruise. The Man of Steel star was seen alongside the Top Gun: Maverick star in 2018, Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Cavill revealed the instance where Cruise stopped him for doing a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) stunt.

Henry Cavill’s Heartbreak
The Enola Holmes star played the role of a CIA agent in Mission: Impossible – Fallout movie. Cavill’s performance was highly appreciated by the fans. Cavill said that he was heartbroken after he was not allowed to perform his stunts during the shoot of the movie. Cavill wished to perform his stunts just like the Endless Love star. But it looked like Cavill lacked the proper training and experience which made the Man of Steel star ineligible to perform his stunts.
“When I was given the opportunity to be in this movie I was excited to perform my own stunts. I went into McHugh and Wade Eastwood, who is the stunt coordinator and second unit director and if it is legal and it won’t end up killing anyone then I am in. I assume saying yes to every stunt they are designing and they did they put me in everything and I knew there was a halo jump in the movie, my brother is in the armed forces. Some of my best friends are all former military and I was very keen to do the halo jump and that was on my bucket list kinda thing.”

Henry Cavill “Begged” Tom Cruise
Henry Cavill is a well-known face across the globe for his multiple hit roles and is a known superstar. Yet as per Cavill’s statement he “begged” Tom Cruise to help him convince the stunt team and director so that they can let him perform his desirable halo stunt. Cruise is known for performing his own stunts in the most difficult action scenes which have repeatedly impressed fans over time. The Top Gun actor can surely be referred to as a true expert for action scenes. But it looked like Cavill’s plea to Cruise didn’t bring some fruitful results for the Justice League star when he expressed his love for the halo stunt.
“Halo jump out of C-17 is where you’ll find me smiling and they wouldn’t let me do it. I was begging Tom I was like Tom just put me in coach you know I’m here in the back of a C-17 with you, have a parachute on. I’ve done some Windtunnel time just let me jump out I’ll be good I promise and he said look, ‘Henry I know what you’re thinking, I know how you feel. I would feel the exact same way but if you jump and we do the sequence in the air without you having hundreds of hours of training, you’ll probably kill everyone’ and I said I’ll let you off this time Tom.”
Though Cavill accepted the fact that Cruise made the right choice. Cavill admitted that he lacks proper training, unlike Cruise who has been formally trained to perform all the stunts independently. It looks like Henry Cavill is still a long way to becoming an action star like Tom Cruise. The Man of Steel star needs to go through proper training to make sure he tick-marks the halo jump on his bucket list. Cavill will be seen last time reprising the role of Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming third season of The Witcher which will be released in the summer of 2023.
