Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which will kickstart the multiverse chapter of MCU, has garnered pretty great first reactions after its premiere in Los Angeles’ Regency Westwood Theatre. But it appears that Michael Douglas, who plays the role of Hank Pym, is not looking forward to being a part of the expanding universe.
The Falling Down actor, who made his MCU debut in 2015’s Ant-Man, shared that he had a great experience filming the threequel of Marvel’s pint-sized hero. But it seems that the actor has one condition over his return for the fourth installment of Ant-Man.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania on the brink of release, Michael Douglas, who portrays the role of Hank Pym in the franchise has shared his experience in the making of the third installment. The actor expressed that he is grateful for being part of this franchise and was pleased to do some family-friendly movies in contrast with his previous works, which were mostly rated R.
The actor also shared that he was excited to come back for the threequel and work with the old crew. Douglas shared that it was comfortable to work with familiar faces, as they didn’t have to go through the introduction again for the third movie in the franchise and had a real blast in filming the biggest movie of the Ant-Man franchise yet.
But even though the actor had a great time portraying the role of Hank Pym, he hasn’t shied away from expressing his fatigue with the cinematic universe. The Falling Down actor also teased that the fourth installment in the franchise may mark his end with the MCU.

Although Michael Douglas had a great time in portraying the role of Hank Pym in the MCU, the actor shared his desire to quit the billion-dollar franchise. The actor has been a part of the MCU for almost a decade and it appears that the actor is no longer looking forward to being a part of the expanding universe.
On asked whether the actor was looking forward to the sequel to the Ant-man threequel, the actor jokingly said that ” as long as I could die”, implying his desire to quit the MCU. And even though Douglas may be a little tired from portraying the same character for the last 8 years, he has shared his appreciation for the prolonged universe.

Fans are anticipating the entry of Kang in the MCU with the Ant-Man threequel and are worried whether the protagonist Scott Lang is going to make it out alive. But if he does, it seems that Hank Pym is going to make the ultimate sacrifice in the fourth installment considering Michael Douglas’s wish to leave the franchise.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theatres on 17 February 2023.
