Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe apologised to the team’s travelling fans after their disappointing 3-1 defeat to Monaco on Saturday – and he did so by using a megaphone.
It was an evening to forget for Christophe Galtier’s side, who were without Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Marco Verratti for the Ligue 1 clash.
Aleksandr Golovkin handed the hosts a 1- 0 lead after just four minutes before a first-half brace from Wissam Ben Yedder sealed a relatively straightforward win for third place Le Rocher.
PSG, meanwhile, have lost twice in four games – a run of form that caused tension after the final whistle between players and fans.

In fact, after Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos advised his team-mates not to approach them, Presnel Kimpembe decided to go against those orders and speak to those who made the trip.
Using a megaphone to spread his message, the France international said: “On the ground, it’s nonsense, we know. The only thing I can say is thank you for coming. Now, don’t let us go, we still need you.”
He added: “We will remobilize in the locker room, do things properly and we will get moving on Tuesday.”

In his post-match interview, Kimpembe addressed approaching the PSG supporters. “Was it necessary to see your supporters? Of course it was necessary,” he said via PSG Report.
“For them too, it’s difficult. We know that they support us, that they travel and pay for them too. We must take our responsibilities and do what is necessary on the ground.”
He also said there was “no reason to be worried” ahead of the upcoming Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
“Even if it’s true that it’s a difficult period. We are all aware of this and must stop talking,” he said. “We must act.”

Here’s how fans reacted to Kimpembe’s speech after the full-time whistle.
One said: “Kimpembe being a true leader that he should be. Big up to him. Talking to the fans that loves their team so much and to calmly reassure them when they are angry about the results shows leadership and empathy that you are meant to possess as a captain.”
A second commented: “That was class from Kimpembe,” while a third wrote: “Classy gesture. Some players should take a leaf out of his book.”
