For the first time in two months, Kylian Mbappe scored in a Ligue 1 fixture, as he notched a double in Paris Saint-Germain’s dramatic 4-3 win over Lille OSC on matchday 24.
Mbappe’s first goal of the contest came courtesy of an assist from Neymar in the early stages of the first half. Mbappe triggered an off-ball run, and Neymar was subsequently able to dish off a keen pass to him. The French international took it from there, as he went on to score PSG’s first goal of the match.
Mbappe sees that Neymar and also Lionel Messi can complete any pass whenever they have a bulk of open space around them.
“Of course, there is space to attack,” Mbappe told Prime Video Sport France after the match. “I know that when I am there, Ney and Leo have more space to play and when they have space, they can give any ball.
“After that, it’s one-on-one, two-on-one.”
Mbappe now sits in a tie with Lille OSC forward Jonathan David and Reims forward Folarin Balogun for the most goals scored in Ligue 1 play this season with 15.
