Erik ten Hag met up with Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of Manchester United‘s huge matches with Barcelona and Newcastle this week.
The pair were seen deep in conversation over dinner in Italian restaurant Cibo in Wilmslow on Monday night.
Ten Hag is currently chasing silverware on four fronts in his first season at Old Trafford.
And Ferguson, who won United the treble in 1999, was happy to give him a few pointers at the restaurant, which he has been spotted at on several occasions.
Ten Hag has United in the title race, the fifth round of the FA Cup, and they take on Newcastle in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday in search of their first trophy since 2017.

But their next game is a huge showdown with Spanish giants Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The Europa League last-16 tie is evenly poised following the 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Nou Camp last week.
Ferguson oversaw Man United’s last win over Barcelona, the 1-0 victory in the Champions League semi-final second-leg in 2008 at Old Trafford after a goalless draw in the Nou Camp.
They went on to lift the last of their three European Cups in the final on penalties against Chelsea in Moscow.
Manchester United are currently chasing silverware on four fronts under Ten Hag
Ten Hag believes his team are developing the same never-say-die attitude that marked out some of the best United sides of the past under Fergie.
‘I am convinced of that,’ he said. ‘Teams need experience to build that mentality, to build that belief, that a game is only over when the ref whistles for the last time.
‘To stay in the game you have to construct that and you need experiences like this to improve even more and push it even more to a higher level of mentality.’
United gained a reputation under Ferguson for turning results around in the final stages of games, most famously in the Champions League final in the treble-winning season in 1999.
