Why Mick Jagger Was Afraid Of Angelina Jolie
Oh, the love life of Mick Jagger. Where should we start to discuss this kind of a broad topic? The rocker is known to be a womanizer who has allegedly been with 4,000 women. His dating life featured many icons, from Marianne Faithfull to actress Jerry Hall. However, the 77-year-old Jagger leads a much quieter life now, as he spends most of his time with his 35-year-old partner, Melanie Hamrick, and their young son.
However, it seems like not everyone was pleased with Mick’s courtings, as Angelina Jolie had none of it. Yet, Mick wasn’t one to give in after only a few rejections as he continued to pursue the actress. Nonetheless, it looks like chasing around Jolie wasn’t as easy as it sounded since the rocker disclosed that he was a bit scared of her.
When the Rolling Stones decided to shoot a music video for the 1997 track, ‘Anybody Seen My Baby?’ various actresses and models were called in for auditions to take part in the video. The band eventually agreed to have Angelina Jolie appear in the music video.
Jolie, who was only 23 years old then, played a stripper with a shaved head, and her beauty and attitude had mesmerized Jagger, which was the case with most people. The singer felt a bit scared of her, but he saw this as a positive thing. “She scares me a little,” reportedly told Jagger about Jolie. “I like that.”
After their initial meeting, Mick went on to ask Jolie out a few times, but the actress turned him down each time since she was married to fellow actor Jonny Lee Miller at the time. However, the rocker didn’t give in and pursued her for two years.
It was rumored that he would literally sob on the phone while leaving messages to Jolie. So, it sounds like Jagger was also a bit desperate. However, he was lucky as the actress divorced Miller in 1999 and finally accepted Mick’s offer to go on a date with him.
After two years of asking her out, Jagger took Jolie to a party, only to leave her to have an affair with another actress, Farrah Fawcett. However, things still worked out between Mick and Angelina despite the singer’s initial rude move. Jagger convinced Jolie to go out with him again and then start a relationship.
