Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the richest athletes in the world, with a net worth of $500 million.
Ronaldo is known to live a lavish lifestyle that also includes traveling in a private jet. Ronaldo bought the private jet, a Gulfstream G200, back in 2015.
This is the same plane in which the Portuguese star traveled to Saudi Arabia after his record-breaking signing with Al Nassr worth $200 million. And just one month after his move to Saudi, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner has sold the jet.
Why did Cristiano Ronaldo sell his jet?
According to reports, the plane had been on the market since July 2022. After around seven months, Ronaldo has found a buyer. However, the price and the name of the owner have not been disclosed. According to a Spanish newspaper outlet, Mundo Deportiva Ronaldo sold the plane to upgrade to a bigger jet and is tired of being in the same one.
Gulfstream G200 can transport up to four passengers and a few crew members. Given the size of Ronaldo’s family – which includes his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, and his five children – it’s understandable that Ronaldo would want to upgrade to a bigger jet.
Al Nassr fans turning against Ronaldo
Since his big-money move to Al Nassr in January, things haven’t been going all too great for Cristiano Ronaldo. In the semi-finals of the Saudi cup, Al-Nassr lost 3-1 Al-Ittihad. The loss was disappointing for the fans and players alike. Ronaldo has been facing a strong backlash for his bad performance as he failed to make his mark in the match.
A video of a person said to be Al Nassr’s sporting director has gone viral, in which we can see him showing his frustration after the loss. The person can be seen mocking Ronaldo and his iconic ‘Siuu’ celebration.
While Ronaldo is still, in his early days adjusting to his new club, fans are growing impatient. It will be interesting to see what the future hold for Ronaldo in Al Nassr. What are your thoughts on Ronaldo selling the jet and his controversial move to Al Nassr? Let us know in the comments.
