A source informed that the Top Gun star avoided the 95th Academy Awards in fear of an awkward run-in with his ex-wife Nicole Kidman. “Tom was not there because she was there, and he did not want a run-in,” a source disclosed to the Daily Mail on Monday.
Those close to Cruise did not engage with these, they cleared it was a rumor and that his absence was not because of any personal reason but was purely professional. The source discussed some scheduling conflicts due to which Cruise could not attend the celebrations.
Many suspect that their eventual split was due to Kidman’s reluctance to join the Church of Scientology. However none of the parties involved have ever revealed the actual reasons, they have managed to keep it vague for the fans to continue guessing.

When the Big Little Lies star was asked if the constant coverage of her relationship with her ex-husband bothered her, she said very candidly that it did not in the least, “I was young. I think I offered it up. Maybe I’ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I’m always trying to be as open as possible. I just prefer to live in the world that way.”

Kidman and Cruise got married in 1990 December, the duo tied the knot in a private ceremony after Cruise divorced his then-wife. They did three films together before their separation. Kidman told Red magazine in 2016, as she was 23 and Cruise 28 when they got married, “I was so young when I got married. I look back now and I’m like, ‘What?’”

She addressed the divorce and possible regrets when The Evening Standard Newspaper asked if she regrets the marriage, The Undoing star replied, “I was a baby when I married Tom, but I don’t regret any of it.” It seems that the actress has no qualms she wants to make it public considering that it might be hurtful to the two kids she adopted with Tom Cruise, Isabella and Connor Cruise. She is happily married to Keith Urban.
