“It’s bigger than basketball.”
Man, this sucks. And I want to be clear, this doesn’t just suck on a basketball level, but on a life level. Chicago Bulls point guard Lonzo Ball will undergo another knee surgery which could potentially keep him out for the entire 2023-24 NBA season. This poor kid is really going through it. Ball’s teammate, DeMar DeRozan met with the media Friday and discussed Ball’s injury.
“For me, it just gets to a point where all I care about is well-being. It’s bigger than basketball,” DeRozan said of his teammate’s tumultuous situation.
The veteran forward added that Ball is a “helluva guy” and he hopes the surgery will help him not only in basketball but also in life.
I have covered his injury since the day it happened in January 2022, and it’s been a long and winding road. Instead of further lamenting over it, I figured I’d share some of Ball’s highlights with the Bulls. Let’s try to focus on the good times he’s had in Chicago and spread some positivity and good vibes.
Yeah, it was only a 35-game stretch, but it was fun as hell. We here at On Tap Sports Net wish Lonzo Ball a speedy and successful recovery. Keep your head up, young man.
