Cavill also expressed that he developed a lifelong love for the genre during his childhood, and since then, the actor has been keen on reading different fantasy novels and playing RPG games.
And it appears that the reason behind his decision to quit the iconic show was his overwhelming love for the source material, as Cavill always wanted to keep Geralt of Rivia true to his roots.

And when he was offered to star in its live-action adaptation, the Man of Steel actor didn’t think twice before accepting the offer and jokingly stated that he considered himself lucky for getting paid for something he loved.
