Chelsea teammates Mason Mount and Thiago Silva showed their support for N’GOLO KANTE during his first game in over seven months.
In a friendly with Charlton’s Under-21s on Friday, the French midfielder made his first appearance since injuring his hamstring against Tottenham.
Kante, a World Cup hero, participated in the Blues’ closed-door match for the full 60 minutes at their Cobham training facility.
Mount and Silva showed their support from the sidelines as they cheered on the popular midfielder.
Mount, an international for England, wore a Kante jersey to celebrate the return of his French counterpart to action.
Silva’s support didn’t extend quite as far as Mount’s, but he was a thoughtful spectator nonetheless.
Mount and Silva saw Chelsea’s young players beat Charlton by a score of 3-0.
Dion Rankine, Silko Thomas, and Malik Mothersille scored for the junior Blues, helping Kante and the team to a victory.
Graham Potter’s position as Blues manager will receive a much-needed boost with Kante’s return to fitness.
The 47-year-old manager praised the midfielder last week, saying, “Managers before me have spoken very highly of N’Golo because he’s a top, top player.
HOW TO GET FREE BETS ON FOOTBALL
We will miss him very much. That he has returned is wonderful news for us. We need to keep that in mind.
We need to do what it takes to get him back on track.
It will be a matter of how we get him back up to speed to play Premier League or Champions League football,” Potter said earlier this month of the former Leicester City man.
It’s exciting that he’s here with us even though he can’t go back in for 90 minutes.
A week from this Saturday, Chelsea will host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
