THE ROCK and Logan Paul are among the top candidates to make a surprise appearance at the Royal Rumble.
And they could both be joined by Logan’s brother Jake Paul.
The Rock is a favourite to return and win the Men’s Royal Rumble Match
The Rumble takes place this Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
The popular Pay-Per-View event is famous for it shock returns, which include legendary wrestlers and even celebrities mixing it up with the current roster.
Speculation has been running wild this year and the WWE Universe may be set for something massive in the first stop on the road to WrestleMania 39.
The Rock has been touted as the shock winner of the Men’s Royal Rumble Match.
Rumours suggest WWE have been wanting for years to book the wrestling great and Hollywood megastar with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
The 50-year-old action star and Reigns have a close bond and a long history as they are cousins and part of the legendary Anoa’i family.
But the publisher and editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Dave Meltzer poured cold water on a potential return.
Meltzer claims Johnson’s schedule won’t allow him to build full fitness in time for WrestleMania.
However, The Rock has repeatedly admitted his wish to return to the ring for one more match and remains fit despite his advanced age.
The 10-time world champion hasn’t wrestled since WrestleMania 29 when he lost to John Cena – he also beat Erick Rowan in a six-second match at WrestleMania 32.
But the Great One hadn’t wrestled for seven years before returning to the ring at Survivor Series in 2011 and still put together a stunning performance.
Another potential return could be Logan, who hasn’t appeared since Crown Jewel in November.
WWE want Logan Paul at the Royal Rumble in some capacity
The YouTuber lost to Reigns in Saudi Arabia and suffered a knee injury.
But the 27-year-old’s brother claimed his injury wasn’t as bad as feared.
According to Fightful, WWE want Logan back at the Rumble in some capacity.
And the amateur boxer’s stunning performances in all of his three wrestling matches make a surprise return in the 30-men over-the-top-rope battle royal quite likely.
Jake Paul could also make a shock appearance at the Royal Rumble
Logan may not be the only Paul at the event as he could be joined by Jake.
The boxer has already appeared in WWE as he stood on his brother’s corner at Crown Jewel.
And he wouldn’t be the first non-WWE star to compete at the legendary match as Grammy award winning artist Bad Bunny also wrestled last year and lasted for almost 10 minutes.
