Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s daughter continues to wave her metal flag high
Willow Smith has quickly become one of mainstream music’s most loud-and-proud metalheads. The 22-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith has recently expressed her undying love for Primus, Lamb of God, Crowbar and other metal greats, and she even launched into a partial cover of Deftones’ “My Own Summer (Shove It)” at a recent show.
If anyone was somehow still doubting Smith’s very apparent love of metal, then the name of her new dog should clear things up once and for all. The star recently adopted an adorable new puppy and decided to name the doggie Korn. Yes, spelled just like the nu-metal pioneers, who Smith recently named as an essential influence on her music during an interview with Rolling Stone.
“Korn! Thank you for being the best daughter and sibling,” Smith wrote in a recent Instagram story alongside a photo of the cute-ass dog. If it hasn’t already happened, Smith needs to get in touch with Freak on a Leash, the new pet apparel brand launched by Korn frontman Jonathan Davis. Clearly, 2022 is the year of the nu-metal/canine crossover.
