She just crushed some *major* streaming records with Midnights.
Best believe she’s still Bejeweled! Taylor Swift is about to embark on one of her biggest tours to date. The Eras Tour, a six month stadium-only tour across the United States kicks off tonight in Glendale, Arizona (which has temporarily been renamed “Swift City.” No, seriously).
The Eras Tour will include 52 (!!) shows across 21 cities. Taylor also isn’t the only reason these shows are going to be so incredible—she’s got some A-list level openers including Phoebe Bridgers, beabadoobee, Gracie Abrams and more. Plus, if you’ve ever seen a Taylor show before, you know there’s literally never a dull moment, and she likely has a few surprises up her sleeve (but more on her most successful tour later).
On top of being the most nostalgic and fun, Taylor’s latest era is also one of her most successful. At the end of last year, she became the first artist to claim the Billboard Top 100’s entire top 10 songs in a single frame, per Billboard. Every single one of the songs was from Midnights. In January, Taylor’s latest album had already sold 1.9 million copies, per Billboard.
And, despite the great Ticketmaster fiasco that took place when her tour went on sale, Taylor is estimated to rake in at least $591 million from The Eras Tour, per Billboard. According to Forbes, she could make up to $620 million.
Aside from tour rehearsals, Taylor’s been very busy over the past few years what with receiving an honorary doctorate from NYU, writing new music (such as the four songs she dropped last night), and maintaining her under-the-radar romance with Joe Alwyn.
So, how does Tay’s hard work pan out in her wallet? Below, Women’s Health has all the details on the star’s wealth, from her upbringing to her current net worth.
She had a comfortable childhood.
Despite the living room dancing and kitchen table bills she sings about, Taylor didn’t start out with nothing. In fact, she had a pretty good leg up thanks to her family. Her dad worked for Merrill Lynch and she grew up in a nice house in Pennsylvania before her family relocated to Nashville to help her pursue her music career.

Yup, Taylor broke onto the music scene in 2006 with “Tim McGraw,” and she didn’t waste any time churning out hit after hit over the ensuing 16 years. In fact, Taylor’s had a record-making eight albums release at No.1 on the charts. According to The Hollywood Reporter, those include:
- folklore: 846,000 equivalent album units in the first week
- Lover: 867,000 units
- 1989: 1.287 million units
- Red: 1.208 million units
- Speak Now: 1.047 million units
- Fearless: 592,000 units
- Midnights: 1.9 million units
Midnights actually marked the “biggest week for any [album] release in seven years,” Billboard reported, and she now holds the record for the most top 10s for female artists in the chart’s history.
Taylor’s reputation tour was the highest-grossing tour in history.
Taylor’s reputation tour sold out (of course) and she earned $191.1 million during the U.S. leg, according to the Grammy website. With that, she broke her own record of being the woman with the highest-grossing U.S. tour. Overall, the tour raked in $345 million, according to Billboard.
She’s made documentaries and short films.
Taylor created a documentary for Netflix during her Reputation tour that reportedly made her millions (the exact amount wasn’t disclosed, though). She also released the documentary Miss Americana in 2020 and one for folklore in 2020 called Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions.
Last year, Taylor released All Too Well: The Short Film, which was a short film adaptation of her single “All Too Well.” The film won three separate awards—including a Grammy for Best Music Video, per IMDb.
She’s also starred in movies.
Taylor has appeared (or voiced a character) in several movies: Amsterdam, Cats, The Giver, The Lorax, and Valentine’s Day, to name a few. Her salaries for these roles has not been disclosed, but I’d imagine they were pretty hefty.
Her folklore and evermore albums helped her make $23.8 million in 2020.
While the rest of the world was dealing with the dumpster fire and Zoom fatigue brought on by 2020, Taylor got to work on some new music, pulling out all the creative stops to rocket her net worth even higher. She netted $23.8 million from sales generated from the two albums, folklore and evermore, that she dropped that year, per Billboard. And she wasn’t even on tour!
She does a lot of endorsements.
Taylor has put her name on plenty of big brands. Those include:
- Capital One
- Keds
- Coca-Cola (remember that commercial?)
- Apple
She has a private jet.
And it’s worth $40 million and has the number “13” painted on the side, per Insider. Dang, girl. She reportedly spent a total of 15.9 days in the air in 2022, per National World.
She also owns a lot of nice real estate.
Taylor’s got plenty of places she can call home, but she famously spends quite a good deal of time in Manhattan. She’s literally got songs that reference the city like “Cornelia Street,” “Welcome to New York,” etc. As of 2020, Taylor owned seven different properties in four states, according to the Wall Street Journal, and her whole portfolio included real estate in:
- NYC (~$45 million)—she’s basically on track to own an entire apartment building
- Nashville ($10.5 million)—Taylor actually owns two properties in Nashville—a strip of luxury apartments and The Northumberland Estate, a 7,700 square-foot home that her mother, Andrea, reportedly lives in).
- Massachussets—Back in 2012, when she was dating Conor Kennedy, Taylor purchased a seven-bedroom house in Cape Cod for $4.8 million. After the pair split, she sold the property for $5.675 in 2013.
- Rhode Island (currently estimated at $30 million)—if you recall, this is the house that inspired the song “last great american dynasty.” Plus, TMZ said she bought this house in cash–for $17.75 million, apparently. Phew.
- California (around $70 million)
In 2018, Taylor sold her Beverly Hills cottage for $4 million and her other Beverly Hills home for $2.65 million. She does still have a huge 1934 mansion in the area that is worth around $70 million, per the Wall Street Journal.
What is her total net worth?
Taylor’s total net worth is around $570 million, according to Forbes, which means she outpaces Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, and Adele. She’ll probably earn plenty more with The Eras Tour, but time will only tell. For now, Madonna and Rihanna still got her beat.
