We often talk about the power of a mother’s instincts. It’s pure and beautiful. A mother is ready to do everything, even put their life at risk to protect her babies. If she is asked which is the most important to her, the answer will certainly come to her children. A happy kid is a kid growing up in the love and care of his mother.

But do you know that fatherhood plays an essential role in a kid’s perspective of life? Kids are always proud of their father. There is nothing that their father cannot do, even the role of a mother. Fathers can take care of their children as well as mothers do. Let’s take the father swan in this story as an example!

The father swan was left as a single dad just one week after his partner’s delivery. The mother swan gave birth to their six healthy cygnets but poorly, she didn’t have much time with them. She died on May 31 of no clear cause, the Boston Globe reported. Who would take care of her babies?

The father swan did, guys. He took the responsibility of his partner and cared for his youngs on his own. He cuddled his babies and let them snuggle under his wings. The single swan dad even carried six on his back while swimming on the lake. We do believe that this is the safest and most comfortable “ferry” that cygnets have ever sat.

These sweet, heartwarming moments were captured by photographer Matthew Raifman on the Charles River Esplanade, in Boston, Massachusetts. His heart melted when seeing the father swan staying with his cygnets.

“I noticed something was kind of unusual,” Raifman told WBZ-TV. “All the baby cygnets were on top of the papa swan.” He later shared on of his snaps on Instagram, where he described the moment as “one of the most heartbreaking stories in a while!”
Father’s instincts win! The father swan had no experience of looking after his babies before. But when tragedy comes to his family, he takes matters into his own hand. He might not perform well at first but everything is on the track now. His children are doing really well now!

When the Boston Animal Control came to check on the young swans, they were astonished at the way the single father swan got along with his children. Taking care of a baby is not an easy job but he has done excellently. So sweet!
