A baby weighing no less than 7.3 kilos was born in Brazil. The baby boy was born by cesarean section. For the time being, he still has to stay in an incubator, but according to the circumstances, he is doing well, according to the doctors.
The giant baby was born last week in the Brazilian city of Parintins. Mother Claydiane Santos dos Santos (27) went to the hospital for a check-up, but doctors ruled that it was no longer possible to wait before giving birth. Although the mother was already in her 40th week of pregnancy, she could not take it all the way to the end. Her baby had already become too heavy, according to the doctors.
The mother, who already has five children, was also surprised by the weight of the newborn Angerson.
“I thought the baby would be 4 kilos, but it turned out to be over 7.3 kilos. I want to thank the team at Hospital Padre Colombo for giving me strength and treating me very well since I arrived here. If it weren’t for them, I don’t know what would have happened. So I thank everyone.”
Seeing her baby healthy and well, Dos Santos calls it indescribable, and the doctors also speak of a “healthy newborn.”
Angerson’s weight is close to the Brazilian record. Ademilton dos Santos was born in 2005. He then tapped the 7.6 kilos. Doctors attributed the baby’s weight to the fact that his mother had diabetes. The world record is still held by an Italian baby born in 1955. Mother Carmelina Fedele then gave birth to a boy who weighed no less than 10.2 kilograms.
The record for the smallest/lightest baby in the world is believed to be held by Saybie, who was born in 2019 in the US state of California. The baby was born after 24 weeks and weighed only 244 grams.
The hospital in Brazil has started a fundraising campaign to provide Angerson with appropriate clothing. He is not only very heavy, but also very large for his age. With its length of 59 centimeters, it does not fit clothes for newborn babies.
