The popular gaming series comes with such a great selection of supercars and hypercars, we have ranked the quickest to help gamers with their choice.
Forza is one of the most successful automotive racing games to date, spawning two different types of games. First, the Gran Turismo rivaling Motorsport series, which is currently in its seventh iteration and is more focused on track racing. And the second – a spin-off launched in 2012 for the more casual player, called Horizon. The Horizon series became an instant hit, and now, nine years later, Horizon 5 has graced our consoles and PCs.
Horizon 5 broke several records since its launch in November 2021, including the most online players for a new game. Along with these, the game also featured the series’ largest open-world map to date and the largest day-one car selection – with new cars added weekly.
With over 520 cars, players were keen to find out which were the fastest in each class, but more importantly, which were the fastest on the game’s new longest highway, stretching across the map. Here are the fastest cars in Horizon 5, pending when Playground Games eventually add faster ones.
Updated April 2023: Whether you love cars or are an enthusiast gamer, you’ll be happy to know that we’ve updated the content of this list with more information and better images of some of the fastest cars in Forza Horizon 5.
10 Bugatti Divo: 236 MPHMatti Blume/Wikimedia Commons
The Bugatti Divo was the first of the special edition Chirons to make an appearance. It features the same drivetrain and performance figures as the Chiron. However, the exterior has been radically changed, and the interior altered slightly to make it sportier than that of the Chiron.
It currently ranks as one of the fastest cars in Forza Horizon 5, with a top speed reaching 236 mph. It is slower than the Chiron, which has a top speed of 261 mph, due to the various design features on the exterior that create more drag and downforce than that of the Chiron. The Divo is also admired for its quick acceleration, outstanding driving dynamics, and sharp handling, with the sprint from zero to 60 mph needing just 2.4 seconds.
9 Hoonigan Ford Mustang “Hoonicorn”: 250 MPHFord Performance
The Hoonicorn is a Ford Mustang that the late Ken Block customized, and, as we know, cars in his possession became extreme performance versions of themselves. The Hoonigan Ford Mustang is no different. Based on the 1965 Ford Mustang GT Coupe that made its debut at the SEMA Show back in 2014, this drift car features a 6.7-liter V8 with two turbochargers sticking out of the hood – one blue and one red. The Hoonicorn in its name is a portmanteau of “Hoonigan” and “unicorn.”
The Hoonicorn in Horizon 5 is an excellent stunt car for Drift Zones. However, when fully equipped, it can achieve a ridiculous top speed of 250 mph, roughly the same speed as a 2005 Bugatti Veyron. This makes it one of the fastest cars in Forza Horizon 5. Not to mention, it is also capable of reaching 60 mph in just 1.8 seconds.
8 McLaren Speedtail: 250 MPH
A successor to the McLaren F1, the Speedtail is the result of McLaren’s attempt to create a faster car. It features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with hybrid battery technology that recharges itself while driving. Together, they produce a combined 1,000 hp.
Inspired by the McLaren F1 GT, the McLaren Speedtail achieves a maximum speed of 250 mph in Horizon 5, making it one of the fastest cars in the game. Acceleration is equally impressive, as the hybrid sports car requires just 12.8 seconds to go from a standstill to 186 mph. Needless to say, it is also one of the best-looking cars in the series, thanks to its sleek, wind-tunnel sculpted body and deformable rear ducktail spoilers. The functional carbon fiber static covers on the front wheels help enhance aerodynamics, but do look a little weird.
7 Bugatti Chiron: 269 MPH
The Bugatti Chiron is the ultimate ultra-fast, ultra-luxurious, ultra-expensive hypercar currently on sale. It has a massive 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine producing a stock power output of 1,500 hp and features more radiators than Jeremy Clarkson’s house.
It has a top speed of over 260 mph in real life, makes the sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds, and clears the quarter mile in 9.6 seconds, making it one of the best quarter-mile mid-engined two-seater sports cars out there. However, with some modifications in Horizon 5, it can reach almost 270 mph. It is not that much of an improvement, as the Chiron’s current special edition can achieve over 300 mph. Forza will likely feature the Chiron Super Sports 300+ in the future, which should see it claim the top speed crown as the fastest car in Forza 5.
6 Hennessey Venom GT: 270 MPH
The Hennessey Venom GT is essentially a Lotus Elise, which the Sealy-based marque pulled, and squashed to fit the enormous 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8. It produces 1,244 hp and weighs in at 2,743 lbs, giving it a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, like the Koenigsegg One:1.
The Venom’s top speed in real life and the game is 270 mph, making it incredibly fast for real-life use but average for the game’s players. Meanwhile, the dash from zero to 60 mph takes 2.8 seconds, and the quarter mile requires 10.1 seconds at 161 mph. The Venom is challenging to drive virtually and in real life, making it a fun car to own in-game but not one to win top-speed races with.
5 Porsche Taycan Turbo S: 270 MPHForza Horizon 5
The Taycan is Porsche’s first proper attempt at an electric car to take on the likes of Tesla. It is a brilliant car with better engineering and quality than the Model S, albeit with less power than the Plaid. Equipped with two electric motors and a 93-kWh battery, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S generated 616 horsepower (or 750 hp with overboost) and 774 lb-ft of torque.
The Taycan Turbo S was a surprise addition to this game’s car list, as it is an electric car with a high top speed. It has brilliant acceleration (models with launch control require 2.6 seconds to reach 60 mph from a standstill) thanks to its two-speed transmission, and it tops out at around 270 mph, making it faster than a specially designed hypercar. It is also an excellent car for A-Class races.
4 Koenigsegg One:1: 273 MPHKoenigsegg
The Koenigsegg One:1 was a car made famous for its 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. The special number, in this case, is 1,360 PS (1,341 hp) to 1,360 kg (2,998 lbs). The One:1 was also the first Koenigsegg to achieve the one-megawatt power output from the 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8.
The One:1 is a great handling hypercar in Horizon 5, with a top speed of 273 mph. This places it among the top five fastest cars in the game.
3 Koenigsegg Agera RS: 280 MPHKoengisegg
The Koenigsegg Agera RS has the same drivetrain and output as the One:1, but with a more Agera-like exterior styling package, which is not as aggressive when comparing downforce to the One:1.
As a result, the Agera RS can achieve a higher top speed of 280 mph in Horizon 5, making it the third-fastest car in the game. While it is the third-fastest car, it stands no chance against the top two. Motivating the Agera RS is a 5.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1,360 horsepower and 1,011 lb-ft of torque, and that much power allows the hypercar to reach 60 mph in a mere 2.6 seconds.
2 Rimac Nevera: 294 MPHRimac
The Nevera is a fully electric hypercar from Rimac, a Croatian automaker backed by Porsche and in charge of Bugatti – quite a feat for a company that is only 13 years old. The Nevera is Rimac’s second attempt at a production car, showing just how much the company is capable of.
The Nevera is a fascinating car as it is blisteringly fast. But with it being an electric car, its main party piece is the instant acceleration provided by its almost 2,000-hp electric motors. The claimed 0-60 mph time is under 2 seconds, which still needs to be officially tested by independent reviewers. The Nevera has a top speed of 294 mph in Horizon 5, making it the second-fastest car in the game.
1 Koenigsegg Jesko: 300+ MPHKoenigsegg
Finally, we get to the fastest car in Forza Horizon 5 – the Koenigsegg Jesko. It is worth bearing in mind that this is only the regular Jesko (if such a thing exists) and not the Jesko Absolut, a unique model built to be Koenigsegg’s fastest production car.
With some clever tuning that doesn’t break the game’s physics (like the Ferrari 599 FXX Evo did in Horizon 4), the Jesko can reach a top speed of over 300 mph, with some players achieving speeds up to 308 mph. This is much faster than anything else in the game.
