This story is about a small puppy who was struggling to survive in the cold weather of Sri Lanka by staying at the market. The dog was determined to survive and would wag her tail every time she saw someone coming towards her.
Photo: Youtube elephantnewsA rescuer from Lek Chailert and her team noticed the puppy’s behavior. Although their primary mission is to save elephants in Thailand, they happened to be in Sri Lanka to rescue an elephant when they saw the little dog.

So, they picked the pup out and attempted to find someone passing by to adopt her. Unfortunately, when people discovered that she was a female, they lost interest. Consequently, they left her with their driver, Thushara, and went to purchase a new blanket for her.

They also gave her a bath and allowed her to sleep in a warm bed with them in the hotel. Regrettably, they had to leave Sri Lanka without finding a permanent home for her, but Lek Lek, the pup, is currently residing with Thushara and his family, and she appears completely different now!
