Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is one of the many children that the ultra-famous Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt share together. She is the fourth overall child, second daughter, and first biological child of the couple.
While Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, with Jolie eventually retaining custody of the children after a lengthy battle, Pitt is allowed visitation. All the Jolie-Pitt children, from oldest to youngest, are as follows: Maddox (20), Pax (18), Zahara (17), Shiloh (15), Vivienne (13), and Knox (13).

Shiloh was born on May 27, 2006, making her just 15 years old- and she has already had quite the life. Being the first biological child of Jolie and Pitt garnered worldwide attention.
In fact, her birth was so important that it was immortalized. At just 8 weeks old, she became the youngest person ever to be featured at Madame Tussaud’s wax museum.
Having parents as successful as Shiloh’s certainly comes with a host of benefits. Beyond her impeccable bone structure and baby-blue eyes, Shiloh has benefitted from Jolie’s inspiring dedication to humanitarian issues.

Because she was born in Namibia, Jolie and Pitt wanted to give back to the country that brought them their daughter. When Shiloh was just four years old, the pair founded the Shiloh Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which partners with the N/a’an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary in Namibia to take care of the animals there.

At the sanctuary, one of the cheetahs was even named after Shiloh! Before kindergarten, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt had already achieved what many adults dream of doing.
As Shiloh has gotten older, Jolie has also done a seemingly wonderful job of educating her, and Shiloh has already begun engaging in humanitarian efforts of her own accord.

Alongside her sister Zahara in 2016, Shiloh elected to donate clothing to a family in Cambodia with 13 children.
Similarly, Shiloh has traveled to countries such as Lebanon and Turkey with her mother on various humanitarian missions such as the ongoing refugee crisis in both countries.

Overall, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has been a public figure since the day she was born. While, as mentioned, there are notable upsides to this, growing up is tough enough without having the whole world watching you.

However, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has done an excellent job of handling the spotlight so far.
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt’s Fashion History
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has been attending red carpet events ever since she was a child. Her first few appearances, beginning in 2014 for the premiere of Unbroken which she attended with her father and brothers, Shiloh was not seen wearing typical female attire.
She instead elected to wear suits and other androgynous apparel such as sneakers and vests, rather than heels and skirts.

Her parents supported all her gender-neutral clothing decisions, which is crucial to a child’s development in terms of their confidence and sense of self.
Attending events with her siblings also likely contributed to Shiloh’s comfort. Nonetheless, experimenting with fashion and breaking gender norms at such a young age is impressive in and of itself, not to mention doing so at public events and Hollywood premieres!
What’s fascinating about Shiloh Jolie-Pitt is that because she has been in the public eye since before she was even born, her entire life is documented.

From baby pictures to braces, her entire fashion journey is well-documented. Therefore, it’s incredibly easy to see her unique style journey through time- as she’s still quite young, it will no doubt transform at least a few more times.
Growing up in the Spotlight
However, no matter how much familial support Shiloh has, growing up with such an intense spotlight isn’t easy. By simply expressing her fashion sense, Shiloh has become a victim to several baseless rumors and rude critics regarding her gender identity.
Neither Shiloh nor anyone in her family has ever claimed that Shiloh identifies as anything other than female- she simply grew up as more of a tomboy, as many girls do.
Other than preferring to be called John-John or Peter when she was two years old and obsessed with Peter Pan, Shiloh has also been Shiloh.

However, because Shiloh often wore androgynous clothing and cut her hair short while growing up, certain media outlets were quick to claim that Shiloh was “a boy” and/or had some form of gender dysphoria.
None of these claims were ever substantiated by Shiloh or her family members, yet some went as far as to state that Shiloh was undergoing masculinizing hormone therapy in 2017, and many have referred to Shiloh as John, continuously claiming that she is transgender. Once again, there was never any evidence to back up these statements.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt underwent hip surgery, at the same time her sister Zahara also underwent surgery for undisclosed reasons.
Unfortunately, the trip to the doctor’s office did not help dispel the unwarranted rumors surrounding Shiloh’s gender identity.
The immense support that the Jolie-Pitt family showed to both Shiloh and Zahara during their recovery proved that their familial bond was as strong as ever, and could withstand any tabloid gossip.

Shiloh’s parents are veterans in that regard, and likely have unlimited wisdom to share with their children.
Shiloh Jolie-Pitt in 2021
Other than the few paparazzi pictures taken of Shiloh after her hip surgery, she has stayed away from the public eye for a good majority of the COVID-19 pandemic so far.
Her last red-carpet appearance pre-COVID was back in 2019, for the London premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
In 2019, Shiloh was just 13 years old and was still very much a tomboy. At the premiere, she wore Converse, black pants, and a reflective black and gold jacket.

So, when Shiloh stepped out in October 2021 for the Los Angeles premiere of The Eternals wearing a dress and makeup with her hair grown out, it was quite the switch-up in style.

Many viewers were shocked, as Shiloh’s new look differed greatly from her androgynous style of the past. However, when you have genes from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, both considered to be amongst the most attractive celebrities in all of Hollywood, you can pull off practically any look.
Shiloh doubled down on throughout all of The Eternals premieres. Just a week later, when she flew to Rome with her mother Angelina and sister Zahara, she once again elected to wear more traditionally feminine apparel, donning a sleek black minidress.

The first biological child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Brad Pitt told Oprah Winfrey in 2008 that Shiloh had asked her family members to refer to her as “John” instead of her given name.

“She only wants to be called John,” the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor revealed. “John or Peter. So it’s a ‘Peter Pan’ thing. So we’ve got to call her John. ‘Shi, do you want…’ ‘John. I’m John.’ And then I’ll say, ‘John, would you like some orange juice?’ And she goes, ‘No!’”
“She wants to be a boy,” Jolie told Vanity Fair in 2010. “So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”
“Shiloh is close to both of her parents. All the kids have been looking forward to Shiloh’s birthday and plan to celebrate with a birthday cake,” a source told ET in 2020.
“Brad is so proud of Shiloh and who she has become. He loves that she always stays true to herself and is so good to her brothers and sisters.”
Finally, a few days later at the U.K. premiere, Shiloh once again wore a dress. Perhaps her most intricate and feminine look of all, this time she wore a black-and-white floral printed minidress that was once Angelina’s.

Charmingly, throughout the press tour for The Eternals, both Shiloh and Zahara wore their mother’s dresses on various occasions, showcasing the close bond between the whole trio. Sustainability and family love- what a beautiful win-win situation!
Shiloh paired the dress with neutral but apparent makeup, hoop earrings, and an updo. All in all, she looked stunning, as did her sister and mother.

Overall, by going from suits to dresses, Shiloh had one of the most notable red-carpet transformations of 2021!
It seems that Shiloh is breaking out of the stereotypes she was pigeon-holed into as a child and is finding new ways to express herself. At just 15, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has led a wonderful life so far.
However, as detailed, growing up in the public eye does come with its own set of baggage. So far, Shiloh has dealt with the criticism she’s already faced with grace, and will undoubtedly continue to do so as she matures and transforms even further.
