Poor dog, abused and abandoned by its owner, has a deformed face and looks very pitiful.
In April, the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter in Ohio, USA, took in a poor abandoned dog named Squish, who was only 4 months old at the time
Squish had been abused to the point that his face was deformed, his skull was misshapen, and he could barely open his jaw, causing him to bite his own tongue.
Squish had a strong will to live and a desire to survive despite his ordeal. Veterinarians determined that the wounds on the abandoned dog were caused by an infected animal.
Squish was given antibiotics and painkillers, and was sent to a veterinary center
At first, Squish appeared to be recovering well. However, as he grew older, he began to experience more problems
Two months later, the veterinarians deemed Squish’s condition too poor and decided to euthanize him. However, Dr. Eileen Heldmann decided to save Squish and took him to a large animal hospital.
At the hospital, it was discovered that Squish’s deformed face was actually caused by blunt force trauma to the head, rather than an infected wound from a bite. The animal required jaw surgery and ongoing treatment, which came at a significant cost.
In a moment of desperation, a kind-hearted person appeared – Danielle Boyd, a veterinary hospital intern. Moved by Squish’s bravery, Danielle decided to adopt him and pay for his surgery.
Squish underwent surgery performed by Dr. Eileen Heldmann, the veterinarian who had previously saved him
The animal recovered quickly and is now living a happy life with his owner, Danielle
Prior to meeting Squish, Danielle had recently lost her senior dog. Squish’s arrival brought her much comfort and helped her heal from the pain of losing her beloved animal companion.
Thanks to his strong will to live and the fortunate encounter with kind and compassionate people, Squish was able to escape the clutches of death.
