Last month, a heart-wrenching video was posted on our VK group, showing a dog being shooed away by people. The emaciated dog urgently needed our help, and we were determined to rescue her. We reached the location at lunchtime, but to our disappointment, we could not find her. We continued our search, enquiring with locals who informed us that the dog was not from the area.
Finally, a man informed us that he had seen the dog a day ago. He revealed that someone had driven and dumped her here. She had been searching for food in the garbage for a week, sometimes stealing food from others, which is why people shooed her away. The man gave her food and showed us the direction where he had seen her. Finally, after hours of searching, we found her at around 3:00 PM.
Our hearts broke into pieces when we saw her. She was starving and was using all her strength to eat the chicken we gave her. We named her “Since,” as no one had seen her until now. She has been eating nonstop since yesterday, hunger running through her veins. We immediately booked an appointment with the vet for the next day.
When we took her to the vet, she was extremely scared and cried a lot. We calmed her down, cut her nails, and tried to make her comfortable. However, we discovered that she had been neglected for at least 8 months. Her nails were overgrown, and her uterus was bleeding, and we were unsure of the reason. Maybe she had cancer, or maybe she had been sexually abused. We had to take an X-ray to know the truth, but for the time being, our focus was on treating her to stop the bleeding.
The treatment was not easy, and the pain that she had to endure during the process was unimaginable. However, she fought bravely, and the next day, we received some good news. She was negative for cancer, and her health was improving. She still needed to be hospitalized for a few days, but we were hopeful that she would recover soon.
After ten days in the vet, our Since was finally back with us. She was still skinny, but she was safe with us now. However, she could not stand the cold, so we gave her new clothes. Despite her condition, she was doing quite well in her treatment, and we were grateful for that. She still had a long way to go, but we were determined to support her in every way possible.
