Taylor Swift 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards
Taylor Swift may be a tad more emotional these days since recently calling things off with fiancé Joe Alwyn, her partner of six years, as proven by the fact that her loyal army of fans have moved her to tears on quite a few occasions on her Eras world tour.
Firstly, Swifties made the 33-year-old “Cowboy Like Me” singer cry in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, April 28th by lighting up the stadium with their cell phone lights during her performance of “Champagne Problems,” a song she wrote with her ex-fiancé under the pseudonym William Bowery.

“I don’t even know what to say. I love you so much. That was beautiful,” Taylor reportedly said in shock and disbelief that her fans managed to come together to make that magical moment happen. “Who organized that? Did you guys just do that? What was the plan?” she asked, adding, “That was so beautiful. Thank you. God, I love you. I’m out. That was really cool.”
Swifties Move Taylor Swift To Tears During ‘Marjorie’
And a similar thing happened on her Eras Tour on Saturday, April 29th, although it was a different song altogether that made the Grammy winner emotional when she saw her fans’ cell phone lights illuminating the stadium. On Saturday night, the singer was actually moved to tears during a performance of “Marjorie,” a song about her late grandmother Marjorie Finlay who passed away in 2003. Taylor clearly got her vocal talent from her grandmother, as she was an opera singer whose vocals even featured on the track thanks to old records. Speaking of how her grandmother provided backing vocals for the track, Taylor previously said: “My mom found a bunch of her old records, of her singing opera, and I sent them to Aaron (Dessner) and he added them to the song.”
Taylor addressed her fans after her performance of “Marjorie” was over, saying: “How are you going to go and do that to me on a song about my grandmother who passed away? I just completely – like, my knees went weak, genuinely, like that physically – I physically felt them. That was so beautiful of you to do that.”
A fan posted the footage on TikTok, and captioned it: “Marjorie Atlanta Night 2! Held it together until I realized she was crying.” And of course, many other fans flooded the comments section to say that it wasn’t just Taylor who broke down in tears, as they too were bawling their eyes out!
