Hyundai ix35 2022. Renewed Hyundai ix35 crossover: now without «mechanics», all-wheel drive is also no more.
The Korean brand launches a restyled «thirty-fifth». The parkette has transformed outside and inside, and the list of equipment has been expanded.
As before, the SUV of the current generation is available only in one market.
From the global lineup of Hyundai cross with the index ix35 has long been displaced by the Tucson model.
But not in China: since 2017, it produces the «thirty-fifth» second generation, it is based on its predecessor, the production is established at the plant JV Beijing Hyundai.
Last year, the vehicle sold about 132,000 copies in China, but in January-October 2020, the demand more than doubled — up to 48,800 units.
Restyling is intended to bring back buyers. Premiere of modernized Hyundai ix35 was held in late November at the auto show in Guangzhou, now it was announced about the start of sales.
The model has received new headlights, which now merge with the radiator grille. The latter, in turn, became wider and changed the horizontal strips on the grid.
The front bumpers are changed: fog lights are replaced by vertical running lights, and the rear one received vertical reflectors.
The headlights now in the form of a single wide strip, which in addition is decorated with the inscription with the name of the brand. By the way, all the optics is LED already in the «base».
The length of Hyundai ix35 increased by 65 mm to 4500 mm, the distance between the axles — the previous 2640 mm.
Inside the cabin there is a new steering wheel and gearbox selector, redesigned center tunnel and other trim materials.
All versions have the multimedia system with a vertical 10.4-inch touchscreen (the pre-reformed Cross has «traditional» 9.6-inch tablet), which also displays the climate control.
A pair of airbags, braking system, cruise control and rear parktronic are in the list of standard equipment.
The cheapest crossover — analog instruments, between which a screen diagonal 4.2 inches, and starting from the second oldest bundle, Parkette is equipped with a virtual «dashboard» (7 inches).
Top Hyundai ix35 also gets: leather interior, panoramic sunroof, side «airbags» and safety curtains, blind spot monitoring and lane-keeping systems, all-around vision camera, adaptive cruise control.
The motors haven’t been changed — the crossover is available with petrol «atmospheric» 2.0 and «turbo four» 1.4 T-GDI producing 160 and 140 hp, respectively.
There is no «mechanics» any more — the atmospheric engine is combined only with a six-graded «automatic» now.
Turbo-motor has the former seven-speed robot gearbox with two clutches.
Also, Hyundai ix35 has lost a version with all-wheel drive (before it was only the top configuration with a two-liter motor and automatic transmission).
However, in China there is no rush demand for cars with 4WD. But it is claimed that the ix35 has become more economical: 2.0 with 6ACP allegedly spends 6.3 liters/100 km (was 6.9 liters), and 1.4 T-GDI — 6.1 l/100 km (was 6.2 liters).
Prices in general remain at the same level, except, of course, for the absence of the cheapest version with manual transmission and the most expensive, all-wheel drive.
In total, the updated Hyundai ix35 will cost 129,800 to 155,800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1,447,000 to 1,737,000 rubles at the current exchange rate.
Pre-reform cars are still available at dealers: the SUV with manual transmission costs 119,900 yuan (1,337,000 rubles), with all-wheel drive — 161,900 yuan (1,805,000 rubles).
The company did not announce any plans to sell the second-generation Hyundai ix35 crossover outside of China.
