Superyachts don’t get much more ‘cutting edge’ than this one.
The stunning £70million ($90million) ‘Unique 71’ has a dramatic bow shaped like a giant knife, with its designers, SkyStyle, revealing that in fact Blade ‘was one of the possible names during the selection’. SkyStyle co-founder Lucas Colombo told MailOnline Travel that the 233ft (71m) vessel is designed for ‘comfort at high-speed cruising, penetrating into the air and water masses like a blade’.
Onboard, the four-deck yacht features a sky lounge with a 914-sq-ft (85-sq-m) rooftop. Another highlight is a spacious water-level dining area at the stern.
Lucas revealed that these areas lend themselves perfectly to hosting what he calls ‘pretty crowded events’. The yacht also features a helipad and an open-air swimming pool, as renderings show.
On the accommodation front, Unique 71 has six guest cabins that can sleep up to 12 people. There are also nine crew cabins, meaning the yacht’s owners can be looked after by up to 18 members of staff. The front of the vessel, meanwhile, has what Lucas calls a ‘hermetical’ design.
Lucas explains that this area includes several openable side and roof panels ‘but mainly protects the occupants and guarantees the best possible sound and vibration comfort’.
Unique 71’s superstructure and hull are made from aluminium and the vessel is able to ‘chop’ through the water at speeds of 30 knots (34mph). SkyStyle – which has offices in the USA, Argentina and Spain – is also known for aviation interior design and executive spaces.
The company is currently in discussions with USA-based yacht brokers Denison Yachting to find a buyer for the Unique 71 project.
