Scottie Scheffler’s caddie’s mind-blowing earnings bigger than Tiger Woods after prolific 2024

Golf superstar Scottie Scheffler enjoyed a dream year that was capped off with a £19million paycheck after winning the FedEx Cup with his caddie set to enjoy a slice of that fee

The 2024 eye-watering earnings of Scottie Scheffler ‘s caddie has incredibly trumped that of golf icon Tiger Woods.

The world No. 1 has had a stormer of a season, which saw him capture The Players’ Championship in March earlier this year before clinching a second Masters title of his career just a month later.

The wins just kept coming for the 28-year-old, who added a further four PGA Tour tournament triumphs to his name alongside securing a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

His latest victory – which was the FedEx Cup on Sunday (September 1) – saw the American bank the tournament’s £19million ($25m) prize, the richest in the sport.

Scheffler’s eight wins this season has equalled Woods’ remarkable 2006 season and the former’s £47million earnings this year will not only benefit the golf behemoth himself, but his caddie Ted Scott. The Olympic champion has worked with him since 2021, following Scott’s 15-year partnership with two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson.

Should Scheffler stick to the standard 10-7-5 structure for a caddies’ pay, where a caddie receives 10% of the winner’s check for victories, 7% for top-10s and 5% for everything else, Scott is set to earn nearly £4million.

The £3.9m paycheck that would considerably boost Scott’s bank balance would rank him 19th in golf’s earnings rankings for the year. It also surpasses what golf icon Woods has earned on the PGA Tour this year, with the 48-year-old operating on a part-time schedule due to numerous lower extremity injuries over the years.

Scott has also banked more than the likes of Viktor Hovland, Tommy Fleetwood, Will Zalatoris, and Justin Thomas this year thanks to Scheffler. who commented on the whirlwind year he’s experienced after his FedEx Cup win. “It’s a pretty special feeling to be finally holding the trophy,” he said.

“I’ve been the Player of the Year for the tour the last two years and I haven’t left with this trophy. It definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth at the end of the year, especially when I start with the lead. I feel like I’ve lived almost a full lifetime in this one year. It’s been nuts.”
