Tiger Woods has a presence in the golf world that is unmatched and undeniable. The unmatched fanbase of Tiger Woods can be seen outside the course as well. The exceptional career of the American pro golfer has been an inspirational journey for fellow golfers and fans. This is all due to Mr. T’s record of most wins with 82 titles including 15 Major Championships till now. Not only this, he is among the richest golfers in the world with a whopping net worth of $1.3 billion.
However, the majority of his earnings came from the tournaments and his wins. But, even a great share contributor is the pro’s partnerships and brand deals. Nike was the first brand that partnered with Woods back in 1996. To make the best for the fans, Woods’s partnership with Nike aimed to create a dedicated clothing lineup with his logo TW that he uses at the course and the same can be offered to the fans. With over 27 years of partnership, the golfer has earned $500 million, as per Business Insider.
The partnership could have been even longer, but back in 2016, Nike stopped manufacturing Golf equipment which initiated opportunities for other brands to step in. Woods then partnered with TaylorMade and used their equipment. However, he still wore Nike apparel at the course until the end of 2023. As his 10-year contract with the brand was not ending until after 2023. Later, in January 2024, Tiger Woods officially parted ways with Nike and created a new brand in collaboration with TaylorMade.
The new brand is Sun Day Red, which was named after his red color preference at the finals of the tournament. While the logo showcases, his 15 Major title wins by showcasing 15 stripes on a Tiger. This is a great step for the golfer to choose a new partnership and create new-age clothing. This has resulted in the creation of a new logo. However, for some fans, this switch to the new logo is not easy to take in.
