On the third stop of the Lakers five-game road trip, the team fell 112-98 to the Heat after a fourth-quarter push lost steam.
After securing a win against Orlando last night, the Lake Show came into tonight 1-3 against the 3-0 Heat. By halftime, Los Angeles was trailing by nine and gave up 19 points off turnovers, 31 points after 48 minutes. Miami gave L.A. two points off of turnovers.
“Ninety-two shot attempts to 77, that’s pretty much off our turnovers. Nineteen second-chance points, that’s pretty much the game right there,” LeBron James said in his post-game presser.
Bron, familiar with the Miami market, produced 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists heading into halftime. All and all, the King had 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists and hit two-of-five three-pointers.
“At the end of the day, I keep the main thing, the main thing. When it’s time for us to work, I lock in,” the King said of his multiple 30+point games this season.
The Lakers were outscored by eight points in the third quarter but made it a game in the fourth. They held Miami to 10 points until the Heat got some traction off a Tyler Herro three and four more points to seal the win.
Russell Westbrook passed Charles Barkley for 28th all-time in scoring on his way to 15 points, eight assists. And Troy Brown Jr. Chipped in an additional 14 points and went four-for-five from beyond the arc.
While Juan Toscano-Anderson, whose been out a majority of this season, didn’t fill up his stat sheet, he offered the smaller Lakers some size on the wing and went +13.
“It was good to get Juan back tonight, give us another body, give us some length,” LeBron said after the game.
The team carries on up the East coast to Atlanta and will face the Hawks on Friday.
