A HEARTBROKEN rabbit reaped furious revenge on a murderous snake after the reptile killed its baby.

In dramatic footage – available above – the hungry snake wraps itself around an infant bunny and its siblings in a family’s back garden.

The serpent begins to feast on its dead prey but suddenly its meal is interrupted.

The dead baby rabbit’s mother leaps out of nowhere to attack the snake and begins biting the reptile’s tail.

Caught off guard the snake recoils in shock and momentarily loosens its grip on the baby bunnies.

Seeing its chance, one of the little rabbits scarpers to safety.

But the furious mother rabbit is not done.

She checks on her remaining children and realising they’re dead goes crazy on the snake.

The rabbit sinks her teeth into the murderous reptile and throws it around the garden in an attempt to move it as far away from her burrow as possible.

Terrified, the snake slithers away through the grass knowing not to mess with the rabbit’s family ever again.

The footage was filmed at an unknown location and has been watched over two million times online.

Snakes survive on a mixed meat diet of eggs, insects, rodents, birds, fish, frogs and small mammals.

But some snakes eat larger creatures.
