Liverpool set to miss out on ‘British jewel’ as ‘galactic’ €270m transfer to rival ‘gets closer’

Liverpool are reportedly set to miss out on Jude Bellingham as Spanish giants Real Madrid are ‘getting closer’ to signing him in a deal worth €270m.

Liverpool keen to sign Bellingham

The Reds have been planning a deal for Bellingham for the past couple of months but they always faced a tough task to sign him ahead of some of the biggest teams in the world.

Bellingham is the belle of the ball heading into the summer as the 19-year-old is one of the best young players in the world.

The midfielder is a special talent and he has already captained Dortmund on several occasions this season. He also played a starring role for England at last year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Liverpool have identified him as their primary target as they intend to refresh their midfield in the summer.

But Real Madrid, Man City and Chelsea have been among the teams challenging Liverpool for his services. Now the Spanish side appear to have won the race to sign him, if reports are to be believed.

Spanish outlet Defensa Central are reporting that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is willing to ‘make the investment’ to sign the ‘British jewel’.

The report claims that Real Madrid are ‘getting closer to finalizing the signing’. They have been ‘following him for months’ and they are now ‘preparing to launch a galactic offer’.

A report from ‘sister website’ Planet Real Madrid provides more details.

The La Liga outfit are plotting ‘an almost historic outlay’ and the price of the ‘total operation’ will ‘amount to 270 million euros’.

It is stated that the initial fee for Bellingham will be €100m plus €20m in add-ons. €15m will go to agents and the player’s salary for six seasons will be €135m.

As a reader, you are probably getting as bored hearing about Bellingham’s future as I am writing about it.

This is not exactly a reputable source and they are perhaps going a bit early suggesting Bellingham to Real Madrid is as good as a done deal.

A lot of conflicting reports are emerging about Bellingham, with Spanish outlets unsurprisingly going with the angle that Real Madrid are favourites over Liverpool.

But a couple of weeks ago it was suggested that Bellingham has decided to join Man City.

With transfer sagas like this, you are not sure who to believe until Fabrizio Romano gives it the ‘here we go’ treatment.

But it is certain that any club interested in Bellingham would be lucky to have him, and Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he’s an admirer of the teenager.

“Jude is a great player who we obviously know. We would be stupid if we didn’t have him on the screen. But there is nothing more to say about it at the moment.”
