Liverpool sign £88.5m winger to eventually replace Sadio Mane

According to the latest from Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, Liverpool are eyeing the situation of Ansu Fati. The 20-year-old winger is seemingly on his way out of Barcelona this summer, with Liverpool in contact with his agent over the conditions of a potential deal. They will, however, face competition from rivals Manchester United and league leaders Arsenal.

Ansu Fati is an exceptional winger who would come in to fix the Liverpool attack which has not been the same since Sadio Mane left last season. Liverpool are 10th in the league, which is a long way off from last season where they finished second, just one point behind champions Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp will be the first to admit that injuries haven’t gone Liverpool’s way. However, it all boils down to the players who are fit not being good enough and not fighting for the shirt.

Ansu, while only ageing at 20 years old, has already developed a killer mentality. He would relish the opportunity to work under Klopp, who is known throughout his career to be an expert at working with young players to develop them into superstars.

He is immensely versatile. He can play in every position across the front three and being so young, has plenty of time to strengthen in each position. For now, though, his future is at left-wing which may confuse Liverpool fans.

Luis Diaz currently plays as a left-winger, with Cody Gakpo also signed recently to add to this depth. Therefore, the Reds already have two class left-wingers in their ranks, with other players who can do a job there too.

Therefore, Klopp probably isn’t considering Ansu to play there but it’d be weird to sign a player, no matter their versatility, to play in an unfavoured position of theirs.
