Gabby Agbonlahor reckons doubts about whether Man City winger Jack Grealish is worth £100m are gradually being eroded after he scored in their 3-1 win against title rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Citizens moved above the Gunners on goal difference at the top of the Premier League table after Pep Guardiola’s picked up three points at the Emirates Stadium.
Bukayo Saka levelled the scoreline just before half-time after Kevin de Bruyne had given Man City the lead but second-half goals from Grealish and Erling Haaland sealed the points for City.
Grealish moved to Man City in 2021 and had a very ordinary first season at the club with the England international contributing three goals and three assists in 26 Premier League appearances.
Grealish is already on the exact same amount of goals and assists this season, following his strike against Arsenal last night, and Agbonlahor thinks he is now showing the type of form which demonstrates why Man City spent £100m on him.
“He’s been outstanding recently – he’s not been getting the goals and assists he deserved with his performances and last night he got that goal,” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
When asked if his performance against Arsenal was Grealish’s biggest moment in a City shirt, Agbonlahor added: “Yeah I think it is, he scored at Old Trafford they didn’t go on to win the game but last night, that’s what he’s come into Manchester City for, for £100m. It’s goals like that.
“His performance, running at players. Even the first goal, Tomiyasu’s mistake. Jack pressuring, putting in the hard yards, works hard and he’s getting used to his teammates.
“He’s getting used to Pep’s formations and tactics and that’s why he was bought for £100m. Night’s like last night, goals like last night – he’s proving a lot of people wrong.”
Speaking after the match against the Gunners, Grealish reflected on the win, he said: “It was massive. For me it was a great night, that’s what I have wanted to do. I have been playing well but want to affect these games. To score that tonight was so important and I am buzzing.
“I was so in the mood and thought we had to win today. I don’t think we played that well, I think Arsenal were the better team. If you want to win titles you have to come to grounds like this and win games.”
Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli also reacted to the scoreline, he told a reporter: “It’s very frustrating, very disappointing.
“We wanted to win the game. But there are still a lot of games to play. We know our strengths and we will bounce back. I think we need to stick together. We are going to fight until the end.
“We are going to bounce back. We know our team; we know our qualities and we are going to stick together. We are a family, and we are going to fight until the end.
“Of course, in a game like this, the team that makes less mistakes are going to win the game but I think we deserved a better result.”
