Kylian Mbappe has downplayed the feud with Neymar after claiming he has no intention to poke at the Brazilian as they need to be united to overcome the challenge of Bayern Munich.
PSG has a disadvantage to themselves after Bayern beat them 1-0 in a crucial UEFA Champions League round of sixteen first-leg clash at the Parc Des Princes.
Mbappe was named among the substitutes during the loss and came on in the second half to change the fate of the game and failed despite scoring twice which was ruled out due to offside.
Speaking to Canal+, the Frenchman said: “We have to look at the end of the game, we were disadvantaged but we managed to cause them issues. We’re going over there [Munich] to qualify.”
“We worked day and night. Our players have to be in good health for the return leg, everyone needs to eat and sleep well. They’re not comfortable when we play attacking football.”- Mbappe said following the loss against Munich.
After the initial statement, the media took a dig at Mbappe due to the comments he made but the Frenchman has denied a hit at Neymar and desired to be united in the moment of crisis.
“I saw people talking about Ney, about what happened. It wasn’t a dig against Neymar. In the situation, a dig is the last thing we need. It really was a piece of advice for everyone.”- Mbappe explained.
The trio of Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe is a frightening thing to face as they have the undisputed advantage with the three on the pitch and Mbappe highlighted the fact clearly during his post-match press conference after a thrilling 4-3 win against Lille.
However, Neymar sprained his ankle in the 50th minute of the game against Lille after scoring a goal and providing an assist to Mbappe’s goal and now faces the race against time to be fit prior to the season-defining second leg against Bayern Munich.
“Like I said, when we have everyone available, as was the case at the start of the match, the opposition can be worried. I hope Ney comes back quickly because he’s a vital player for us.”- Mbappe further added.
