Belgian superstar De Bruyne admits his love for the Reds and Michael Owen after scoring four goals in youth game
AN 11-year-old Kevin De Bruyne says Liverpool are his favourite club and Michael Owen his favourite player in very first interview.
The baby-faced assassin hasn’t changed much in 15 years, not least his goalscoring form – putting away four for Gent’s youth side.

After his team beat rivals KRC Genk 6-2 in the youth cup final, 2002, a little KDB gave an interview for the first time.
He revealed: “My favourite team is Liverpool. My favourite player is Michael Owen and I would like to play there.”
The youngster then moved across to Genk – where he worked his way up through the youth ranks.
De Bruyne made his professional debut for the Belgian side in a 3-0 defeat to Charleroi in May 2009 – seven years on from that youth match.
The Belgian didn’t make his English debut for Manchester City of course – spending two years at Chelsea from 2012-2014.
Manager at the time, Jose Mourinho, clearly didn’t recognise his talents – sending him on loan to Wolfsburg where KDB came into his own.

The 26-year-old sparkled for the German club, showing the world what he could do, and Jose Mourinho what he had missed out on.
Manchester City realised his clear ability – signing him for a fee of £55million in 2015.
Since then he has come on leaps and bounds, arguably City’s MVP in their record-breaking season so far.
De Bruyne has conjured up eight goals and a further twelve assists for his teammates in all competitions this campaign.
