It’s hard to imagine a universe where Hugh Jackman did not portray the role of Wolverine in the X-Men universe. Although it is a tough predicament, the Wolverine actor did wanted to have another job before signing on as an actor.
In an interview, the actor revealed that he actually loved singing and dancing and starring in school musicals during his childhood. Although the actor admitted that it was simply a way to meet girls and that he couldn’t turn it into a career.

Before starring in pivotal roles in major Hollywood movies that gave him an image as an actor, Hugh Jackman did not actually want to act. From starring in successful movies like Wolverine from the X-Men Universe and P.T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman, Jackman has done it all but what he really wanted to do all along was to sing and dance his heart out.

Amid rumors that Jackman is actually a closeted gay individual, Jackman admitted that during his childhood days, he loved dancing and singing and starring in school musical plays. As is with any child, Jackman switched from jobs every second such as chef on a plane, a singer, a dancer, and many more.
While talking about his memories, Jackman stated that the notion of becoming an actor had never come to his mind.
“I decided I wanted to be a chef on a plane. Because I’d been on a plane and there was food on board, I presumed there was a chef. I thought that would be an ideal job.”
The dream although did not come to pass as Jackman went on through various different jobs where he could not find his passion until…he became an actor for good.

The Van Helsing actor talked about the various phases of life that he went through before finding his passion. From working at a 7-Eleven from which he was fired, Hugh Jackman went and taught PE and then dreamed about becoming a talk show host.
It wasn’t too late before the actor started taking drama class and then realized that he belonged with the acting people.
“But I loved it. Have you ever had that feeling where you’ve found your people, your tribe? In that week I felt more at home with those people than I did in the entire three years at university,”
The actor further talked about it in another interview,
“It wasn’t until I was 22 that I ever thought about my hobby being something I could make a living out of. As a boy, I’d always had an interest in theater. But the idea at my school was that drama and music were to round out the man. It wasn’t what one did for a living. I got over that. I found the courage to stand up and say ‘I want to do it.’”
After many appraisals and love from the people, Hugh Jackman took to the theater screens and is now recognized as one of the best actors out there. His iconic role of Wolverine was demanded by the people and thus, he is set to return with Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 3.
Jackman’s latest and most exciting project with the Free Guy actor is set for a release date of 8th November 2024 theatrically in the U.S.
