BERNARDO SILVA has named his dog ‘John’ in honour of Manchester City teammate John Stones.
Silva and Stones have been close friends since the Portuguese star signed from Monaco in 2017.

Silva bought the dog with his partner, model Ines Degener Tomaz.
In an instagram video, the 27-year-old said: “This is John. We really wanted to have a dog.
“He was named after my good friend John Stones because we’re very close and I’ve always said to him if I ever get a dog I would call him John.
“It’s actually a great name, we love it.
“It suits him, he is a beautiful boy and very intelligent.”
Silva even admitted to taking the French Bulldog to training.
He added: “I took him [to training] twice, it was nice.
“I always take him on recovery days because I am only one hour away from him, to not leave him alone for a long time.”
In the video, Silva and his girlfriend Ines Tomaz are seen walking the streets of Manchester.
They discuss the midfielder’s career and his love for the city.
Another thing the Portugal star talks about is his matchday superstition, which involves making a coffee for teammate Riyad Mahrez.
He said: “Always one hour before the game, it’s my only superstitious thing but I always go and get a coffee for me and for Riyad.
“I always get my coffee and Riyad’s coffee so we drink the coffee together one hour before the game.”
