Well if his stats in the competition are anything to go by, you wouldn’t bet against Pep Guardiola’s side lifting the trophy in Istanbul in 12 months time.
Haaland averages a goal every 64 minutes in the Champions League
The 21-year-old will officially become a Manchester City player on July 1 after the club activated his £51million Borussia Dortmund release clause.
Despite winning five Premier League titles in the last 10 years, the Champions League has proved to be elusive.
After losing last year’s final to Chelsea, Guardiola and Co crashed out to Real Madrid at the semi-final stage this term in heartbreaking fashion.
Haaland’s arrival though could well be the key to the club finally getting their hands on Europe’s biggest prize.
The striker’s stats in the competition are nothing short of extraordinary.
Since making his Champions League debut in 2019 for Red Bull Salzburg, Haaland has netted 23 times in the competition.
It’s a record bettered only by Robert Lewandowski and Karim Benzema.
Those 23 goals have come in just 19 games in the competition, which averages out at an incredible 64 MINUTES per goal.
It’s the best record in the history of the Champions League of anyone to have scored 20 or more goals in the tournament.
It took Haaland just 14 games to reach the 20 goal mark, the quickest out of anyone in history.
And finally the Norway international is the youngest player ever to hit 20 goals in the Champions League.
He was a tender 20-years and 231 days old when he netted for the 20th time in the competition.
That was without the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva serving him up goals on a silver platter.
