A woman who became ᴀ ǫᴜᴀᴅʀᴜᴘʟᴇ ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴇᴇ ᴀɢᴇᴅ ᴊᴜsᴛ Fᴏᴜʀ ᴀFᴛᴇʀ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪɴɢ ᴍᴇɴɪɴɢɪᴛɪs has ʙᴇᴀᴛᴇɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴏᴅᴅs ᴛᴏ become a mum. Danielle Bailey ʟᴏsᴛ her ʟᴇɢs and ʜᴀɴᴅs ᴀFᴛᴇʀ ᴄᴏɴᴛʀᴀᴄᴛɪɴɢ ᴍᴇɴɪɴɢɪᴛɪs ᴡʜᴇɴ sʜᴇ ᴡᴀs ᴊᴜsᴛ Fᴏᴜʀ ʏᴇᴀʀs ᴏʟᴅ. Her parents were told she had ɴᴏ ᴄʜᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏF sᴜʀᴠɪᴠᴀʟ. Danielle Bailey was given ᴀ 0 ᴘᴇʀ ᴄᴇɴᴛ ᴄʜᴀɴᴄᴇ ᴏF sᴜʀᴠɪᴠɪɴɢ and grew up believing she may ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ find love ᴅᴜᴇ to her ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ, after ʟᴏsɪɴɢ ʙᴏᴛʜ ʜᴀɴᴅs ᴀɴᴅ ʟᴇɢs. But now, she has everything she ever wanted. A ᴅᴏᴛɪɴɢ ᴘᴀʀᴛɴᴇʀ and a gorgeous eleven-week-old baby, Teddy.
Danielle said :” I’ve always wanted to be a mum but I ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ think it would ever happen. In school, my friends all started getting boyfriends and I ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ. I ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ think I’d ever find love ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ mind a baby because of the way I look. But as I got older, I accepted my ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ and realised there will be someone out there who loves me for me. In October 2019, she met Tom Twist, 34, in a pub. He ᴅɪᴅɴ’ᴛ care that her ᴀɴ ᴀᴍᴘᴜᴛᴇᴇ, and instantly showed she what true love is. When she Fᴏᴜɴᴅ ᴏᴜᴛ she was ᴘʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ, Danielle admits feeling ‘ᴀɴxɪᴏᴜs’ . She Fᴇᴀʀᴇᴅ what other people may think and ᴡᴏʀʀɪᴇᴅ in ᴄᴀsᴇ she ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ be able to manage ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ her ʜᴀɴᴅs .

I ᴡᴏʀʀɪᴇᴅ in ᴄᴀsᴇ I ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ be able to look after him. But as soon as he came ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ, I knew I could do it. It all came naturally. Giving birth was the ʜᴀʀᴅᴇsᴛ thing I have ever done because I didn’t know what to expect. I was ᴡᴏʀʀɪᴇᴅ about bringing Teddy ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ but it has been fine. I have ɴᴇᴠᴇʀ let my ᴅɪsᴀʙɪʟɪᴛʏ ʜᴏʟᴅ ᴍᴇ ʙᴀᴄᴋ. Teddy has made me realise how precious life is. I ᴄᴀɴ’ᴛ imagine life ᴡɪᴛʜᴏᴜᴛ him. He’s made me feel more confident than ever. Now I am happy, and my main goal is to be the best mum I can be and to make sure he has a good life.”
Danielle also praises her sᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛɪᴠᴇ partner for stepping up and being a fantastic dad. She says parenthood has been a defining chapter in both of their lives. And everyone in her hometown is happy for her. She adds :” I’ve had nothing but praise from people. I am always happy to help anyone who is thinking about having a baby but ᴡᴏʀʀɪᴇᴅ because of their ᴅɪsᴀʙɪʟɪᴛʏ. I am ʟɪᴠɪɴɢ ᴘʀᴏᴏF that you can do it.”
