After James Gunn was appointed to lead the DC Studios, he can be frequently seen in the headlines of major news articles, whether be it for an important announcement about the franchise or due to the ousting of another actor from their designated role. And another main reason for his recent rise in the news, other than being the DC head, is because Gunn is directing the last installment of The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is drawing closer to launch, and with James Gunn directing the movie, it is set to be a major blockbuster. Moreover, Gunn has already said that the threequel will be the best one out of the bunch, and with its release date drawing near, fans can only wait to quench their excitement for most probably one of the best movies to be released in 2023.
James Gunn Warns MCU Fans About Leaks and Spoilers
James Gunn is leading the third project of The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise and it is already almost time for its premiere on the big screens. Vol. 3 will be the last movie for the space heroes and many things are expected to be revealed in the film, some very heartwarming, heartbreaking, and some very terrifying for both the crew and the audience.
Now, spoilers and leaks of the movie cannot be prevented from scouring social media. Some spoilers have quite a heavy impact on the audience even before they get to know the whole scenario, and this was the case for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and even though most of the leaks were taken down, they still made a huge impact on the movie.
“It might be wise to be careful what you’re reading on social networking sites starting at the end of April if you want to avoid spoilers for [‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’]. That said, I don’t think your enjoyment of the film will be diminished much by knowing them.”
So this time around, James Gunn already addressed the fans from indulging in the spoilers and rumors too much if they want to enjoy the movie. Moreover, he shared that even if we happened to know one or two spoilers it wouldn’t affect our enthusiasm to watch the movie unless it is some major leak, which will be taken down of course as it was done previously for Quantumania.
The security this time around has definitely been upgraded, managing spoilers and leaks but the fans who want to indulge themselves with the spoilers for the movie cannot be stopped no matter how much security and policies are put in place.
James Gunn is Preparing DCU for Chapter 1: Gods and Monsters
MCU has always been known for being the leading comic franchise even though DC has been established first, Kevin Feige’s MCU has taken complete control of the people’s hearts and to be honest the level of production made by MCU allows it to be the best in the entire world. James Gunn aims to change that with his newly planned DCU Bible that has the next 10 years.
Gods and Monsters are more focused on bringing new comic heroes into the spotlight instead of showcasing the already present fan-favorite superheroes and villains that MCU has yet to offer. James Gunn has claimed his plans for DCU are more thoroughly planned than Feige’s MCU plans and only time will tell whether Gunn’s Gods and Monsters will just be an obstacle to MCU’s plans or will it be a solid contender.
The DCU Slate will have important character movie projects like Superman: Legacy, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Things, and finally The Authority. The series section will also not fall behind as it has the Creature Commandos, Waller, Booster Gold, Paradise Lost, and Lanterns which will most probably be enough to carry forward the whole franchise and put a tough contest to MCU.
Up till now, the current DC could never amount upto MCU and its superheroes and supervillains but now, they might have a legit chance to make a comeback from behind and snatch the top position. DCU’s journey will start with Superman: Legacy which will premiere at the theatres on 11 July 2025.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will premiere on 5 May 2023.
