The King of the Jungle bares his teeth into a huge smile as he was pictured mating with a lioness in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

The King of the Jungle is seen mounting his mate in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya.
During their encounter, the male big cat is seen in various positions during his states of arousal.
As he prepares to mount the lioness, she lies on the floor while he becomes more excited.
From standing on his hind legs, showing off his teeth in a huge smile and roaring, the animal clearly shows how excited he is by his encounter.
Photographer, Vclav Ilha, 55, said: “As soon as the female is ready to mate, she would raise her tail and provoke him by rubbing him or crawling at his feet.
“The male follows her impatiently, for the female leaves behind a strong odour.”
This particular encounter was the start of a session which could last around five days, where lions tend to mate around 200 times.
Although the act itself only lasts a few seconds they continue to mate after 20 minutes.
