In an interview with WSJ magazine in December 2019, actor Dwayne Johnson shared how he was “tricked” into entering a second marriage.

Last August, the star of the movie The Mummy of Egypt, actor Dwayne Johnson, married his longtime girlfriend Lauren Hashian. The actor said that in fact, he always hesitated at the thought of getting married again after his divorce from his first wife Dany Garcia (married in 1997 and separated in 2008).

Dwayne met Lauren in 2007. She was the party planner for a movie he was filming at the time. Recalling the first moment he saw Lauren, he said: “With only 30 seconds, I thought: Wow, this girl is gorgeous !”.

“At that time I was breaking up with Dany and Lauren was also leaving her breakup” – “Scorpion King” continued – “It’s ironic when you’re not looking for something, God the almighty will do it for you.”

Dwayne Johnson said that when he and Lauren decided to get married, they had two children and had been together for 12 years. Explaining why it took so long to decide to get married, he said that after his first marriage failed, he was very hesitant about getting married again.

“I’ve been divorced once and I’m not afraid to get married again, but I’m a little hesitant,” said Dwayne Johnson. “But Lauren is incredibly patient with this.”

Also in the interview with the WSJ, Dwayne talked about the advantages of having to change the environment as a child. Constantly moving to new places helped him learn to accept change – something that was difficult for him before.
