Tiger Woods, last spotted in public at the Open Championship in July where he ended up missing the cut, underwent his sixth back surgery in September. Post the microdecompression surgery of the lumbar spine that was operated successfully, Tiger Woods had then stated: “I look forward to tackling this rehab and preparing myself to get back to normal life activities, including golf.”
Is he back to the golf course? Yes. Does that mean he is fit to swing the golf clubs? Not quite.
For many Woods fans, it was a sign of relief to see Tiger Woods dialed in to watch Charlie Woods show off his skills from start to end at the Class 1A high school golf state championship at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills. Charlie put together a stellar back-nine on the tournament’s second day to shoot 151 (1-over). It was a rallying effort (five birdies and six bogeys, to be precise) as he helped the Buccaneers close the gap on the leaderboard with his final birdie of the day, finishing 32nd individually in the tournament.
The defending champions, three-way tied for 9th place on the first day, ended the tournament as state runner-up, nine shots back of rival Oxbridge Academy. It has been four months since Tiger Woods was last seen and the 82X PGA Tour Champion is yet to reveal where he might be seen performing next. Is it going to be the 48th and final event of the PGA Tour of the year, the $7.6 million FedEx Fall event?
The eighth and final event of the 2024 FedEx Cup Fall, the RSM Classic, is scheduled to take place on November 21 at the Sea Island Seaside Course. A few hours ago, the official X account of the PGA Tour Communications took to their wall and shared the final field list with the spectators. Out of the 156 golfers in the field, Tiger Woods’s name is absent.

But the question is, when will the 15X Major Champion make it back in the world of professional golf after a terrible 2024 season?
Tiger Woods expected to return to competitive golf in January
On Oct 21, TGL released the schedule of their debut season starting January 7 next year with 24 PGA Tour players, divided into six teams, signing to hit balls into a massive video screen projecting virtual golf holes. The debut match will feature New York Golf Club (Xander Schauffele, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Young) against The Bay Golf Club (Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark, Shane Lowry, and Min Woo Lee). So, what about Tiger Woods?
TGL is heavily promoting Tiger Woods to debut in the league. He is teamed up with Jupiter Links Golf Club team and is scheduled to go against the Los Angeles Golf Club (Owned by the Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and legendary tennis players, the Williams sisters) at 7 p.m. ET on Jan. 14, televised on ESPN. Woods will be playing alongside Max Homa, Tom Kim, and Kevin Kisner. Now, that’s confirmed news. However…
If he recovers well ahead of time, he might tee off at Albany in the Hero World Challenge. Additionally, there are possibilities of him fulfilling the family tradition by playing with Charlie Woods at the PNC Championship in December at Ritz Carlton.
