It’s Marvel Comics’ original Avengers ensemble against Kang the Conqueror in this week’s new releases.
Written by Paul Levitz and illustrated by Alan Davis, The Avengers: War Across Time #1 goes on sale, launching a new five-issue miniseries where Earth’s mightiest heroes take on Kang ahead of his next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance. Actor Jonathan Majors will portray Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is out in theaters on Feb. 17, but War Across Time will see the villain fight Captain America, Iron Man, Ant-Man, Wasp and Thor throughout time. The title is set to see the Avengers break into the Fantastic Four’s headquarters and Thor lose his hammer, but it is unknown what else is in store for readers as of writing.
Meanwhile, Marvel’s Dark Web event continues this week with several new issues, including The Amazing Spider-Man #17, Dark Web: Ms. Marvel #2 and Mary Jane & Black Cat #2. Across the three books, all of their heroes are trapped in Limbo’s hellscape. Peter will have to face a demonic version of the Sinister Six, while MJ and Black Cat deal with Belasco the Swordsman. As for Ms. Marvel, she is teaming up with Spider-Man Miles Morales for her own Limbo adventure.
Of course, there are other series releasing new chapters this week, including Black Panther, Ghost Rider, Daredevil and Wolverine. From the Star Wars galaxy, there’s Star Wars: Darth Vader #30, Star Wars: The High Republic #4 and Star Wars: The Mandalorian #7.
