Keoghan has been studying Ledger’s performance closely, but he’s not trying to copy it. Instead, he’s using it as inspiration to create his own version of The Joker. He’s also been studying other Joker actors who have played the role, from Jack Nicholson to Joaquin Phoenix, to get an understanding of the character.

He’s determined to put his own stamp on the character, and he’s confident that he can bring something new and unique to the role. The actor recently explained that

“[The Joker is] a bit charming and a bit hurt and wanted some sort of human in there behind the makeup and this is a facade he puts [on].”
